Community Services Block Grant (CSBG)
 Scholarship Program

Provides one-time scholarship funds on a competitive basis to eligible clients in each county who are entering college or vocational school.

Requirements for Program

Eligibility: 
100% federal income guidelines; high school graduate
or college/vocational school student entering/returning to
college/vocational school

Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP)

The SCSEP provides part-time employment/training for persons age 55 and over in public or private sector while upgrading skills or learning new skills for permanent employment.

Requirements for Program

Eligibility:

125% Poverty income guidelines

Through Opportunities People Succeed (TOPS)

A Welfare-to-Work Program designed to assist TANF recipients to leave the welfare roll and become self-sufficient.  Participants will enter a five-week job club, where they learn a wide variety of work readiness and life skills.  Upon completion, participants will enter paid work experience for up to six months where they will receive training in a variety of jobs.

Year Round Youth Program

Targets high school youth, college and vocational school youth who are at risk of dropping out of school or not graduating on time and current dropouts.  The program will prepare participants for entry into post-secondary education and/or employment opportunities which best serves their individual needs.  This will be accomplished by using career counselors to set up an individual program using tutoring, mentoring, job shadowing, some work experience, and an incentive to both attend school and to graduate.

Requirements for Program

Eligibility: 
 

In-School Program:  Participants must be 14-21 years old, be in school, have a barrier, and be economically disabled

Out-of-School:  Dropouts and customers who have been out of school for longer than six months, but who are under the age of 21 and be economically disadvantaged

Household size, household income, applicant's social security number and drivers license or birth certificates

Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Title I

WIA Title I (Adult, Youth, Dislocated Workers and Work Experience) offers skills assessment, career counseling, occupational skills training and work experience ranging from short-term training up to a two year associate program at institutions from major universities to small private trade schools.

Requirements for Program

Eligibility: 

Adult
:   18 and older and economically disadvantaged

Youth:  Between 18 and 21 years olld and economically 
disadvantaged

Dislocated Workers:  And individual who has been terminated
or laid off from work and needs education or training to get
back into the workforce

Work Experience:  Economically disadvantaged and having
difficulty getting an adequate job due to limited work experience

Documentation:
Household size and income, applicant's social security
numbers and drivers license or birth certificate
