  The Big Sandy Area  Community Action Program works in conjunction with other agencies and organizations to provide needed services to children and parents within the community.

Designed to efficiently serve as many children as possible and support welfare reform efforts. The program is responsible for determining eligibility, matching clients
to available child care resources, helping families find quality child care, processing assistance payments, and addressing unmet child care needs.

Requirements for Program

Eligibility: 
Parents must be working, going to school 
or in a training program, meet 165% poverty income guidelines.
Referrals may also be received from DCBD Protection and Permanency.

Documentation:
Referral from DCBS, proof of income and copy of
class schedule or work schedule.

Child Care Resource and Referral

A referral service to persons interested in obtaining child care services or the mediator for individuals interested in becoming child care providers.

Comprehensive childhood development program providing services such as
educational, medical, dental, mental, nutritional, social and parent involvement
for children ages three and four.
