Big Sandy Area Community Action Program works in conjunction
with other agencies and organizations to provide
assistance to low-income families and individuals within
the community. Some
of those services include emergency
home heating, rent and utility assistance, food and shelter
and non-cosmetic
repair to homes.

Low-Income
Home Energy Assistance Program
Emergency
assistance for home heating costs for low-income clients. The
program offers two components, Subsidy and Crisis. The Subsidy
component
is a one-time payment toward the home heating costs.
In the Crisis component,
a client must have less than a five-day
supply of heating fuel or a disconnect
notice from the utility used
for heating.

Food Pantry Martin
County (only)
The pantry provides
staple foods to low-income individuals and/or families
whose food
supply has been depleted. Assistance will only be provided to
families once monthly.

Low-income rental
housing assistance. Available for homeless families, families
living in substandard housing, or families paying more than 50% of
family income in rent.
